Biggest Breakout Stars of 2010

for me its a tie between Mia and Andrew. possibly Chloe. we know they can act and will be around for quite awhile. I'm not convinced Sam Worthington is anything more than Avatar/Jake Sully. Rooney shouldn't count yet b/c The Girl W/ The Dragon Tattoo hasn't even been completed yet.

What about Emman Stone? She would have been a good one to include on this list.

Got to give my vote to Alex O'Loughlin. He was fantastic in The Back Up Plan, and has put his stamp on the character of McGarrett in the fabulous re-boot of Hawaii Five-0. I'm looking forward to seeing more of him in 2011.

The only one who's capable of carrying a tenet pole picture in this list is Sam worthington. The others may be able to act better but he's the one with most exposure. Why do you think clash of the titans suddenly have a lone mug of him in the poster? So he's in my opinion the biggest breakout star in 2010 despite of me thinking even chloe morentz have a broader acting range than him.

in terms of talent, it's gotta be moretz, she is outstanding regardless of her age, she has real potential to be a long term star. How she conducts herself in interviews is also to be commended, she's only like 13 yet she can interview better than most grown women can

In terms of being a 'star' I would say sam worthington simply because of the widespread success of avatar and the recognition that's gotten him, but unfortunately, i do not rate sam for his talent.
alex o'loughlin is also a 'star' he's the whole package, and this has been his year to finally shine

I'm so glad Alex O'Loughlin is winning this poll. He isn't a newcomer, but this will be the year he gets the recognition he's long deserved. Sam Worthington may have been in the highest-grossing movie ever and was good in it, but Alex is the better actor. He is so much more than just a pretty face.

I dont feel like Sam Worthington is a breakout star from this year. He gained popularity last year for Terminator Salvation. I vote for Chloe Moretz.

Although I think Tom Hardy could have been included as well. After Inception, I see news stories all the time, about all these new movies he's been cast in.

I voted for Andrew, because he was solid in The Social Network. But I kinda want to vote for Alex O'Loughlin, only to show my ongoing love for The Shield.

My wife and I were watching Alex O'Loughlin in last year's too-soon cancelled "Three Rivers" and thought this guy's got something going for him. I'm not at all surprised that he's running away with this poll.

I don't dislike Alex O'Loughlin but he was in one movie that BOMBED and he's on a show that gets decent (at best) ratings. it might not even last past a second season. that's if it gets one.

What exactly are you smoking? Hawaii Five-O consistently wins its time slot and is the highest rated and most watched of all of this season's new shows. It has also been picked up for a full season and will almost certainly be picked up for a second. You are seriously misinformed.

My vote all the way is for Alex O'Loughlin. The man is going far, future Emmy or even Oscar will adorn his address in time... He has charisma, oozes sexiness, his expressions are worth a million words not to mention his contagious smile. And what you see, you get in real life, I am told from a reliable source. And he made us fall in love with a modern day vampire, Mick St. John, in the former TV series, Moonlight (too early cancelled because a head honcho of a network got argumentative with the People's Choice Best New Drama 2007-2008 Award show's main backer that runs his offices out of the studio that actually owns ML's rights... ML's cancellation had not a thing to do with low ratings). Though I do like the Twilight sagas, Mick St.John, aka, Alex O'Loughlin, will always be a better draw for all ages than Edward Cullen of Twilight fame...

Alex O'Loughlin was great in Moonlight and was good in Three Rivers. Quite often, shows are cancelled not because the actors aren't good, but because of the writing, time slots, etc. He really shines in Hawaii Five-O and it has been getting great reviews as one of the best new shows this year. He is good looking, but he's also a great actor. I'm glad to see him get a series that really shows his talent.

Alex is winning because he is an awesome actor and has a lot of dedicated fans. Yes he is gorgeous but it takes more than good looks to keep fans watching and rewatching your shows.

I have watched Alex's career for over 4 years and read many many comments and opinions about him. He promoted organ transplants while on 3 Rivers, promoted blood drives while on Moonlight. HE CARES AND IS A WONDERFUL HUMAN BEING as well as talented and loves and his appreciates his fans. I've not heard ONE word from anyone that's worked with this man that is negative...he isn't perfect, but he sure is way above a lot of these "pretty boys" Hollywood types out for the money and fame. Forgot to type my "name" on other comment...I am not an avid watcher of CSI bloody disgusting shows or silly stupid reality shows about people leading less than interesting, and sometimes downright stupid, lives. CBS's Blue Blood, The Defenders, and Hawaii Five 0 made them my favorite network and they finally found out what the talent they had in Alex O'Loughlin. I haven't even heard of some of the names you have mentioned on this pole???? Guess I watch quality stuff. In my opinion anyone who watches something as "Jersey Shore" hasn't much going for them upstairs. Just my opinion....don't mean to be "mean".
